Greetings! My name is Sarah Bieniek, and I am a Public Health professional with degrees in biology and physics from American University, and a Masters in Public Health from George Washington University in Washington, DC. I am interested in interdisciplinary science and public health.
Within science I have been involved with genetics research that focuses on the impact of certain mutations on gene expression, and astrophysics research to better understand the relationship between interstellar dust particle composition and the light we observe from stars in our galaxy. Beyond scientific research I have been fortunate to be involved in multiple organizations, some like Women in Science and the Society of Physics Students, connect me to my peers in science, others like the AU Ambassadors program and theater, have taught me communication and understanding within my larger community. Moving forward I hope to use the analytical and communication skills I have developed to stay involved in research, healthcare, and interdisciplinary science.
